Dr. Leera Briceno Retirement Announcement

Dear Patients and Colleagues,

After thirty-three years of practicing dermatology, I write with both gratitude and mixed emotions that I will be retiring.

These past decades have been deeply fulfilling, with the last seventeen years at South Shore Dermatology Physicians (SSDP) the most rewarding. It has been a privilege to care for you, earn your trust, and work alongside such dedicated colleagues. I am profoundly grateful for the relationships I have built and the opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of this community.

I am pleased to share that your dermatologic care will continue to be in excellent hands. Dr. Dhrumil Patel will be joining our practice in February 2026. Dr. Patel comes with a stellar reputation, and many of his former patients are already looking forward to continuing their care with him here at SSDP. 

You can also choose to see any one of my esteemed SSDP colleagues. As I have told my patients who have asked for a personal recommendation over the past several months, I would be comfortable seeing any SSDP physician for any skin problem. While the decision to retire was not easy, I feel ready to begin the next chapter of my life. I look forward to traveling, exploring hobbies that I’ve long put aside, and, most of all, being available to spend more time with my loved ones.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being part of your lives. It has truly been an honor to serve you all these years.
