Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic disorder of the facial skin, often characterized by flare-ups and remissions. It typically appears on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead and affects fair-skinned individuals who flush or blush easily.

Over time, the redness tends to become ruddier and more persistent, and visible blood vessels may appear. Left untreated, bumps and pimples may develop. In some rosacea patients, the eyes may also be affected, and may feel irritated and appear watery or bloodshot.

While there is no cure for rosacea and the cause is unknown, there are treatments to control or reverse its signs and symptoms, including topical medications, low-dose antibiotics, and V-Beam Pulsed Dye Laser for treatment of rosacea-caused redness and enlarged blood vessels.
