Age Spot Removal

Cosmetic Cryotherapy

Small, rough bumps that slowly thicken and get a warty surface are known as seborrheic keratoses. These common skin growths are benign but unsightly. Seborrheic keratoses and brown spots from excessive sun exposure are easily removed with cosmetic cryotherapy. This in-office treatment uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the growth and cause it to fall off.

Chemical Peels

Sun damaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin color, and superficial scarring can be significantly improved with chemical peels. These non-invasive procedures produce smoother skin texture, more even skin color, and a healthy glow after a few treatments.

Chemical peels can also be used as a supplement to the treatment of stubborn acne. Chemical peels temporarily unclog pores and reduce inflamed acne bumps, resulting in smoother, clearer skin.

SSDP offers the following Chemical Peels for the treatment of photoaging and acne.

  • Vitalize Peel™
  • Glytone Peel System®

V-Beam Laser Treatment

The V-Beam Laser reduces facial redness and/or broken blood vessels commonly caused by rosacea and/or chronic sun damage. It also may be used for treatment of red acne scars and marks, removal of common benign overgrowths of blood vessels (angiomas), reduction of brown spots (lentigines), and removal of red discoloration on the sides of the neck from overexposure to the sun.  Treatment with the V-Beam Laser takes only minutes and side effects are few. Surrounding skin is undamaged while targeted lesions are often removed in just a few treatments. Treatment with the V-Beam Laser is provided by all of the SSDP dermatologists.

Cosmetic Electrocautery

Small keratoses (benign wart-like growths), Dematosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN) (small, soft brown raised lesions that occur on the face and neck of people of African, Latin, Indian, or Asian descent), and sebaceous hyperplasia (enlargement of oil glands producing small, yellow bumps on the face) may be removed with electrocautery. A tiny electric needle gently burns away the targeted lesions while leaving normal skin unharmed.
